Born in Lisbon, Portugal, Rui Pimenta lives and works in Toronto, Canada. His work has been exhibited both internationally and across Canada. He has studied at the Toronto School of Art, as well as, York University where he graduated with honours in Philosophy and Humanities, areas of study which continue to inform his work. Although his current art practice has moved in a more sculptural direction with the material of choice being latex, his work continues to explore the inner aspects of the human body.
